Meet our Pastor

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Rev. Dr. Tess Powell-Curtis grew up in a Christian home. She received the called to ministry and was licensed to preach on September 21, 2008, at 1st Mt. Olive Baptist Church (FMOB) in Leesburg, VA. She was ordained on June 27, 2010 at MPBC.

Rev. Dr. Powell-Curtis earned a Masters degree in Christian Education from Faith Christian University & Schools (FCUS) and a Master of Divinity degree from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology in Richmond, VA. She earned her doctorate degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia on May 7, 2022.

Rev. Dr. Powell-Curtis was blessed to teach courses for Faith Christian University & Schools, Moody Bible Institute, at numerous churches, in her own God ordained community and women empowerment ministry, and she will continue to do so as the newly elected Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church of Flint Hill, VA.

Rev. Dr. Powell-Curtis is a devoted wife, mother of two young adults , and four grandchildren.Her passion and primary goal is to preach and teach the unadulterated Gospel to all that will hear and to serve others, until she hears her Lord and Savior say well done.
